If your mower is badged AYP, you may be interested to know it stands for “American Yard Products”. It's a company that Electrolux created in 1988 when it purchased Roper and merged it into the Husqvarna group that it had taken over in 1974, along with the garden equipment operations of other recent acquisitions, including Poulan and Weedeater.

When Electrolux spun off the Husqvarna group in 2006, making it virtually an independent company, most of the gardening brands they had acquired were then divested to Husqvarna, but others continue to be used by other divisions of the Electrolux conglomerate, one of which is AYP. AYP has factories in South Carolina and Georgia and makes parts for garden appliances branded Craftsman, Poulan, Roper, Rally, Wizard, Woodwards and Yard Master, as well as AYP.

AYP products, like those if its sister company Husqvarna, are known for being user-friendly and reliable.

PIX has a huge factory in Nagpur India but set up a European HQ in Ipswich in 1999.
